Your question makes perfect sense. While it does have to do with weddings, you might be better posting in Society & Culture.
All I can think of is that the time planning a wedding, most often by the bride, physically removes her from society, could mean less time spent with family and friends. It also mentally removes her from society and life when she spends time at work more focused on wedding plans than the actual work at hand.
