Anyone hear about honeymoon registry?
I’ll be going on my honeymoon next year to Hawaii, but know it will be hard to afford! Someone told me you can have a honeymoon registry for your wedding. I’d like to do that instead. Does anyone have advice / knowledge on this topic?

It’s a fabulous idea. Instead of having a tacky money dance or asking for money from your guests, you register at a honeymoon registry. People shopping for you can then pay for various things regarding your honeymoon. It would look something like this
Plane Tickets to Hawaii ($100) needed: 10 rec’d: 0
Room at Hilton ($225) needed: 7 rec’d: 2
Upgrade to oceanview room ($100) needed: 7 rec’d: 0
Breakfast in bed ($75) needed: 3 rec’d: 3
Snorkeling tour of the Big Island ($150) needed: 2 rec’d: 1
You get the idea. I think it’s still smart to register at a store as well.
To get word out about where you are registered, tell the family gossips, put it on your website, and ask the wedding party to spread the word. NEVER put registry info in the invite.
