My older sister is getting married… I need a gift, help please?
I’m the maid of honor in my sister’s wedding
We’re very close, she is 26 and I’m 20 and the shower is tomorrow
I already put money in for the gift from all of the bridesmaids but I want to get her a gift just from me that’s more personal
I was thinking gifts she could use on the honeymoon
but there isn’t a lot of summer stuff out now
i don’t want to get her lingerie because our family is all kind of old and I’m just going to give her that with no one else around!

How about a personal recipe book? You can get favorite recipes from other family members and friends, and put them together into a book. If you can, get each person to write something about the recipe – where it came from, when they like to make it and some kind of advice for the new bride.
Try to get a photo of each contributor, also. It could be a photo from their earlier years, or a current one or both.
Organize cookbook like the modern ones are – Main dishes, appetizers and salads, desserts, side dishes, etc. Be sure and make a table of contents for it. Do your own introductory page and a dedication to your sister.
You could put it in a scrapbook, three ring binder with pages covered in protective plastice sleeves (she can then add to the collection), or even have it bound at Kinko’s. I’d have page protectors on all pages no matter what format you choose.
I think anything you put a lot of love and thought into will be cherished by her. You sound like a great young woman. She’s lucky to have you as her sister.
