Instead of traditional 50th anniv. gifts, can we ask for monetary contributions to a 2nd HONEYMOON FUND?

We would like to know what wording we can use on the invitations to ask that gifts be monetary and be contributed to a 2nd honeymoon fund. We would like the most tasteful wording for invite.

Requesting cash and tasteful do not belong in the same sentence. It’s never tasteful to request any kind of gift with an invitation, no matter how cleverly you think it may be worded.

The only thing you can do is spread the word to friends and close family members, anyone you think a guest may contact for help in deciding what to get for the couple. They should know what your plans are so they can advise guests accordingly.

And if I ever got an invitation with a bank address and account number on it, you can bet I’d stick it back in the envelope and write “Return to Sender” on it. That’s probably one of the most offensive things I’ve ever seen suggested.
