Maldives – Cheapest time and way to go for Honeymoon 2008?
Hi,
I am getting married this December 2008 and really want to go to Maldives for honeymoon. I want to know the average cost of flights from uk(london) to Maldives and if its cheaper to wait until January 2009. At the moment I am getting quoted 6000GBP!!!!! for 6 nights in Maldives and 3 nights in Dubai – which is way too much.
Anyone know how and where to get cheap flights and what these should be and tips on how to get there for honeymoon cheaper.
I am having an indian wedding so have spent most of my money on just my wedding day

Hi Ams, well the period of December 2008 to end of February 2009 the rates of all fancy hotels in the Maldives will have higher price tags you can ever imagine and it comes with quality service worth while your stay. However, based on your lower budget, I am recommending you to contact some local travel agencies in Maldives to get best price, If you are trying to get Hotel rates direct from the hotels, you may not be able to get low market discount price offered to special local agents.
The best low-peak season starts from Feb to September in most of the hotels. You may already be too late to book rooms for December or January unless you take action now, otherwise you will not be able to book on the spot.
I would like to advice you that you should try contacting some local agents, try www.visitmaldives.com and you can get local agent lists with contact details from this Maldives official tourism promotion board website. Also keep in mind atleast keep 4 or 5 months ahead in plan to make a booking if you are going to visit Maldives in the peak season.
