Kauai or Maui?? Which is better for a honeymoon?
I’m getting married next August, and we have decided to go to Hawaii on our honeymoon. We were planning on Maui, since I’ve already been to the Big Island and I live on Oahu. So we wanted to go somewhere different, not to overly populated. We thought Hawaii would be good, but my stepdad who lived in Hawaii for over 13 years is telling us he thinks that Kauai is the most beautiful and there won’t be as many people there. I really don’t have a prefernce, I just want it to be very romantic and very special and not Oahu, or the big island. What do you think and reccomend. Also any hotels/resorts, or activities you think we should do, we’d love to hear it! Thanks so much!!
Clearly, Kauai. Here’s why, based on your question.

Every one of those comments are either 100% right and/or point to Kauai. My wife and I also live on Oahu (Ewa Beach), and while we’ve been to the Big Island and Maui with family and friends, we’re saving Kauai for just the two of us. Quiet, romantic, slower pace, beautiful…all the same reasons you considered it. Maui isn’t bad, just doesn’t fit what you say you want NEARLY as well.
Here’s what I recommend. Do what our family and friends (even here on Oahu) do while we’re planning trips on the islands. We built a personal family web page on Oceanic Roadrunner that started listing all the places we recommended, with other links, rated and most reviewed. That was so they could look around at the sites we thought would be most useful and not waste time Googling and (as usual) having to wade through the 90% waste-of-time web sites. Plus, we didn’t have to answer the same questions over and over. It’s just grown over the last 2+ years, and we’ve decided to share it to everyone.
