MAUI HONEYMOON ADVENTURES

MAUI HONEYMOON ADVENTURES
Honeymoon in Maui, where to stay?

After much consideration between oahu or maui weve chosen maui. We are going in June and i’ve heard it is less crowded however since we are in our twenties we like alot of activities and want a nice hotel within walking distance of places to eat, shop etc. This will be our first time in Maui. We had picked a spot on waikiki beach but after reading about all the tourist who go and since it will be in June we figured it would not be very romantic. One thing i did like about Oahu is the adventure water park. Are there any fun things like that in Maui? Where is a good hotel to stay? We want less crowds which is why we chose Maui but still want to be in the middle of everything if that makes any sense. Any suggesstions would be great. Thanks!
I meant this is my first time ever in Hawaii

Congratulations :) Maui is such a great choice for your honeymoon – it is very romantic and there’s enough going on that you don’t feel out in the middle of nowhere.

It’s hard to choose the best place for a Honeymoon on Maui, because all of the resorts and condos really are nice. It’s all about location. I think you’ll enjoy staying at a place that’s conveniently located near whatever activities you plan on doing. Here’s a great list of recommended Maui activities – http://www.hawaii.com/hawaiian-information/maui/activities/overview.php They also have information about weddings, and some of the romantic ideas you may enjoy.

One piece of advice I will pass along, if you want to enjoy a really private experience, consider staying at either a resort or a condo – not just a hotel. Hotels are great, but families with kids stay at most hotels and they tend to be more noisy.

For a Maui resort, I’d recommend the Prince Maui resort – it’s fabulous and just lovely. Their luau is on Tuesdays and Thursdays and it’s just amazing. The Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is also a lovely experience, and it’s close to a cute shopping village.

For a Condo, I’d recommend the Fairmont Maui Villas or the Wailea Beach Villas – both very cozy and romantic.

When I think of all the things that can be done on Maui, the most amazing experience is swimming with the dolphins and other sea creatures. It’s amazing and it feels safe with the professional there with you. What a great experience for you to remember as you become a married couple :) And I think that beats out a water park, don’t you?

Whatever you decide to do, there’s a Go Maui card that gets you a lot of activities in the area for the price. You can add on activities and build an itinerary that will be a dream come true for you guys – plus you can see where all the attractions are located ahead of time. http://budurl.com/gomauicard

If you love nature, I’d recommend driving or taking a tour of the Road to Hana. It’s very beautiful – here’s a video of what it’s like: http://www.govisithawaii.com/2008/12/12/road-to-hana-video-montage Romantic hikes, biking, horseback riding, swimming – it’s all here.

If either of you are into the arts, the art center is lots of fun and they even let you make some pottery there (kind of like As You Wish, Hawaii style) http://www.kapaluamaui.com

For some great shopping, don’t miss the upscale Shops at Wailea (http://www.shopsatwailea.com) – great dining options there, too. But if you’re looking for the biggest place to shop with the most stores, that’s probably the Maui Mall.

Good luck finding the perfect activities and accommodations for your Honeymoon. Congrats again :)
