Italian Honeymoon-How much Money to bring?
My fiancee and I are getting married and have planned a trip to Italy for 4 nights in Rome and 4 nights in Florence. We are leaving on September 17th. We already have one day trip paid for and one dinner paid for. What should we plan to bring with us in terms of money per day per person? I have been getting so many conflicting answers. We plan to do some sightseeing but also want to relax.
I suggest you to to bring not less than 75€ per day per person. Consider that Florence is more expensive than Rome and that the cost varies a lot depending on what you’ll choose to do… (e.g. touristic and romantic restaurants or cheap pizzeria).
Museums’ ticket usually cost from 8 to 18€ (just to give you an idea so take it into consideration but do not completely rely upon it).
doraemon: if you are staying for two weeks the best places you can see are the most famous (Rome, Pisa, Florence, Venice). Chose the one (ones) that you prefer and then you can see also other close places… The language is not a problem if you travel in touristic resorts because people are accostumed to it, but if you go to small villages I advise you to take a dictionary with you… Anyway italian people are usually helpful and kind.
Italy is not dangerous, but you have to pay attention. There are a lot of thiefs so look after your bag and keep it in front of you when you are in the crowd. Pay even more attention if you use the underground.
