Can anyone suggest a holiday house in Italy for our honeymoon?

We arrive in Italy on 7th April, stay two nights in an hotel, then we plan to use the Italian railway network to get around, so I’m looking at places with stations.
We want to go to Bologne (for food etc) Florence and Rome over a period of 3 weeks. Then we fly back from Malpensa airport on 1st may.
We would prefer some peace and quiet, but don’t want to be so far away that eating out becomes a major undertaking!
I’ve never been to Italy before, so excuse my ignorance of the various towns etc. (My head is also elsewhere because of wedding preparations!)

Go to the south…Matera, Lecce, Otranto and the coast around that will be a nice surprise for you ( for food as well)….
