Three Things to Do While in Maui

Enjoy Maui’s Best Beaches:

With a coastline over 120 miles long, the island of Maui is home to over 30 miles of beaches, both developed and undeveloped. Whether you are vacationing with family, or are on your honeymoon – you’ll find a beach suitable for you. Maui boasts beaches that are known around the world for their excellent surfing, while others are more suitable for snorkelers, families and children.   Ka’anapali Beach/Black Rock Beach is awesome for snorkelers, divers and swimmers. There is plenty of coral and an abundance of tropical fish.   D.T. Fleming Beach Park/Kapalua: If you’re into body and board surfing, this public park is perfect for you. Lifeguards are on duty and the park has picnic tables and restrooms – this makes it great for families as well.   Kaanapali Beach/Resort is three miles of white sand, catamarans, surfing and wind surfing. It was also named America’s Best Beach in 2003.   Polo Beach/Wailea was named America’s Best Beach in 1999 is a popular destination for those with small children. The calm waters make for excellent swimming.   Ho’okipa Beach Park / Pa’ia is widely known because many wind and board surfing contests are held on the island.   Enjoy the Island of Lanai: Of all the Hawaiian islands Lanai is the most secluded, at 18 miles wide and 13 miles long – the pristine island is known for its comfort, grace and style. Although it is small in overall size, there are plenty of amenities to enjoy.   There are several historical sites and landmark locations to visit, Dole Park & War Memorial, Federation Camp, Garden of the Gods, Luahiwa Petroglyphs and Sweetheart Rock (Pu’u Pehe Rock) are just a few.   You’ll find an abundance of suitable lodging options as well. Many who visit the Island of Lanai opt to rent one of the luxury homes. If this isn’t an ideal option for you – there are several Bed & Breakfast Cottages  as well as two resort hotels. The secluded island features 6 dining locations that serve the best in local cuisine.   The shopping, arts & culture is just as quaint as the island itself. You can partake in local traditions, shop at one of the gift stores – or spend your time relaxing on the beach.   Take a Trip to Molokai: Referred to as “The Most Hawaiian Island”, if you are looking for a true Hawaiian experience – you’ll want to visit Molokai. Steeped in tradition and “old Hawaii”, Molokai may be one of the most friendly of the Hawaiian islands. Molokai is rumored to be such an easy going island, that there isn’t a single traffic light!   The average high temperature on the island ranges from 77 degrees during the winter to 85 at the height of the summer seasons.   Molokai Ranch was once a popular tourist destination. The ranch iwas over 100 years old and sat on over 70,000 acres of land. Molokai Ranch announced that it would closed it’s doors in 2008. There is still plenty to do on Molokai. The island hosts Hawaii’s only barrier reef, there is an 18 hole golf course, ancient temples, a rain forest, sport fishing and scenic island tours.
