Oh! Forgot to mention that we will have a washer/dryer for parts of the trip.

It is a good idea to bring a couple photocopies of the first page of your passport with you as well, and keep these separate from the passport in case you lose it. That way your embassy can help you replace it if lost or stolen in just a day or so (bring some passport photos too if you have them).

I recommend that you bring a change of clothes, toothpaste, deodorant, etc in your carry on in case you have an unexpected layover somewhere or the airline loses some of your baggage. Nothing is worse than being uncomfortable in your clothes when you also have the headache of an unplanned layover.

You may want to pack a little first aid kit for yourself. Leave out things you really wont need like burn cream but put in bandages, tylentol packets, etc. Leave all creams and liquids out of this unless you put it in your checked bags.

On your address list, also put family so you can send post cards, etc. And make out a few emergency contact cards to out in different areas on your person and your baggage. Invaluable in case you are unable to identify yourself in an accident.

And please, this is the most important. Contact your embassy and let them know you are in the country for 3 weeks. If someone needs to find you, if you lose your passport, if you somehow get into trouble with the local authorities, your embassy is there to help and can get to you in a matter of just an hour if your presence is registered. I know, this was my job once.

Have fun on your honey moon… pack extra condoms!
