I am looking for a few websites that would give me some ideas on a christian evangelical mission trip?
I am 32 and my husband is 35 we are looking to go on a short term mission trip for our honeymoon at the end of June 2007, we are renew our vows after ten years and want a tangible way to thank and serve our heavenly father. We our not very picky and know God will lead us to the right one.
Its not a web site, why not us all the travel expenses and find the places in your town where homeless hang out and sleep. Make sure your husband is with you! Go get a outdoor grill and as much food you can and have a big cook out for all of them. People are willing to listen when they are being fed. And they will see Jesus in you and your husband. Jesus fed the hungry! And touch those who were untouchable.
You can read “Under the Overpass”. Its a heartwarming and touching story about two young men who followed God’s calling and spent 5 months on the roads in major city’s across America.
Jesus says that we are to give to the poor and he spent his ministry on this earth reaching out to the sick and needy. Why not do that too? It might open your eye’s to the people in need around you and you can minister not just on your honey moon but every week. And you will meet some wonderful people the devil has stripped dignity from. The devil has tangled up wonderful souls in addiction and poverty and pain. And it is right under our noses. You and your husband will grow so much!
You are blessed I wish my husband would want to go on a mission trip with me.
But you must ask yourself do you want to travel for yourself? To see far off places and help for a time. You can reach a lot more people if you are in it for the long hall. Paul spent years in some towns teaching and loving God’s flock.
