Trying to find a 1940s (approx) movie that takes place in Julian, California. Romeo & Juliet type story.?

My aunt saw the movie in the 1940s or 1950s and it is a tale of forbidden love. She needs the title so she can try to buy it for her granddaughter who honeymooned in Juian California.
