Is it ok to ask for baby things as gifts at my wedding?
I’m getting married on August 8th. I’ll be 27 weeks pregnant. We have lived together for 4 years so there really is nothing that we need for the house.
My mum suggested that I set up a gift registry at Mothercare and babies r us and ask that if people would like to buy us a gift, to buy something for the baby. We aren’t having a honeymoon so don’t need money/travel vouchers for that.
Do you think its ok to do the above?
I’m in the UK where baby showers are not the norm.

Wel you could always get your mom to do a shower for you. I live in the uk and I had one here. It was small but lovely. Perfect to meet people in the run up to B-Day!
But i see no problem asking for baby stuff for your wedding – I mean this baby is going to big part of the family too! And I also think people would love this idea – much more fun than buying a boring toaster!
