HONEYMOON DISNEY FLORIDA

Honeymooning in FLORIDA – ideas?
We’re considering honeymooning in Florida in August 2009, but wondering if anyone can advise us of the places to see while we’re there. We’re looking for nice beaches, interesting activities etc, so Miami and the Keys would be great. Not so much the party cities (I hear Daytona is a party place), or Disney World. Any other places worth visiting? We will be hiring a car and driving around the state for three weeks.
ALSO do you know roughly how much a flight from florida to the Bahamas would cost?
Bear in mind we’re living in the UK, so everything in the US is uncharted territory for us!
well, it all depends on what youre into. but i love the keys (august is hot though) not so much key west, which is a little too party atmosphere for me, but the middle keys are great-wonderful seafood, relaxed. id say rent a boat or kayaks, go to islamorada to the theatre of the sea and do the dolphin swim(did this for my first anniversay-it was memorable)
there are some cool offbeat tourist attractions around miami-monkey jungle, miami jungle gardens, corla castle. west coast beaches are white sand and calm water. i actually prefer east coast beaches with bigger waves, but most prefer west coast. st augustine is great (i live there) we get lots of brits visiting, they all seem to like it.
the one thing i absolutely recommend is going to a florida spring. this is something you dont get many other places, pure crystal clear 72 degree water bubbling up in beautiful natural settings. the florida state park website lists alot of them
good luck
