Ideas For A Perfectly Funny And Glamorous Hen Night(/day)
It has never really made us laugh and we always say to each other “girls, never do that to me”. Personally I think its far more fun for the groom to get dressed up and go on a bar crawl. For the future bride, I consider it to be a day to relive her life as a young girl, with the people who sopent that time with her, thats to say best friends, sisters, cousins, the day is an opportunity to share feeling face to face and to think about her future life as a newlywed.

With friends you might even make promises along the lines of “Girls, even when we’re all married with two kids, we will still do our shopping and restaurant days!”, or even “If I become one of these women who totally let themselves go because i’m married with a kid, please come and sort me out!!!” it is also the moment for friends of the bride to give recommendations and a briefing for the wedding night, basically its a girls night for a whole day and with a dash of emotion.
Well, here’s the programme that I suggest. Careful, its glamorous, sensual, funny and enjoyable all in one. Not a ridiculous night out, no gross games and no wigs (unless its just to make the bride look nice and to give her a makeover for a day). I think that the most important thing for this day is to play on emotion and experiences whenever possible as well as whatever might bring interaction between the participants.
The night before: You place before her a beautiful envelope with a fresh flower or a bouquet. In the message: ” meeting tomorrow at 10h for your day…”
D Day :
1000: You go by her house and dress her for the day: a long fine white dress, evoking marriage and also pleasant to wear. A big pearl necklace and a beautiful jewellery piece for her hair, or maybe a tiara (with diamonds?! probably not)). For her shoes, her own shoes so that they are comfortable but ones that will go with the outfit. The other girls will all have a matching colour such as pale blue or pink so that the future bride can be marked out among them.
1030: appointment at a beauty spa (oriental?) witha programme, wither to choose or combined: Hammam, scrub, massage, pedicure/ manicure. A pampered start to the day to feel relaxed and beautiful.
1230: aphrodisiac cookery course to give some ideas for the honeymoon A funny and educational moment amongst girls. Everyone will get involved and its gives somehing interesting to talk about later.
1330: Lunch somewhere nice ( if you havent already eaten all of the aphrodisiacs). Opt for either somewhere you usually go together, to be ritual, or if not choose something that goes all out to give a great experience: the setting (relais chateau, terrace restaurant, by the lake, at a beach) or the food (oriental, asiatic, russian, mongolian?!) so that its a moment of discovery for everyone.
1530: an initiation course in massage for 2 hours so that the husband and wife can destress each other after the stress of marriage. In groups the girls will be able to practice on each other during the class. This will be an educational moment for all which will relax everyone by touch. OR An oriental dance class to give a sensual surprise to the groom on the wedding night and to the men in the class! An exotic moment for a change of scenery.
1800 meet up in a cosy bar with massive cushions, an intimate atmosphere to inspire trust, a relaxing moment with herbal teas and maybe a chicha pipe for example?
1900/19h30: all of the girls go to one of their houses to get changed and a bit more dressed up for the night. the bride may change dress for a more stylish number for the evening. She remains beautiful and distinguished. She is marked out from the other girls who will all be wearing the same colour, black or navy blue for example.
2000/ 2030: Cocktails or a flute of champagne in a trendy bar with a swimming poor ar a lounge atmosphere, somewhere fashionable she can proudly show off her diamond ring.
2100/2200: Dinner in a restaurant linked to the bar or closeby (to avoid endlessly moving around). Think of a favorite restaurant of the group. THE restaurant where you have always wanted to try, on a barge, in the dark, on an aquarium??
the idea of this day is to to get as many experiences and exchanged between all of the girls alls whilst letting the bride know how much you all care.
