HONEYMOON BRIDAL
Does anyone know about japanese wedding traditions specifically bridal showers, groom stags and honeymoons?
This is for a sociology project on Japanese wedding customs. The project was divided between me and 3 other people and my part is on Japanese bridal showers, groom stags and honeymoons if there are any.
In Japan, they do not do bridal showers or stag nights. Its never been part of the culture, and even though many Japanese couples are now opting for a “Western” wedding in Japan, the Western traditions (such as the ones you mentioned) surrounding the wedding are not done.
Some couples do honeymoons. At the travel office they use the English word “honeymoon” to advertise international destinations. And it must be a country outside Japan, or else they wouldnt consider it a honeymoon.
