HONEYMOON BLADDER SYMPTOMS

I’m so tired of this! What’s going on?!?

I’ve always been prone to getting bladder infections, but over the past year or so I’ve been coming down with several infections of BV (bacteria vaginosis, i’m sure i spelled that wrong) and yeast infections. The past 3 months or so have seemed especially bothersome because I had BV (treated it) then a month later got it again (treated it also). This sort of knocks out two months of intimacy with my fiance because the antibiotics that I take for it mess up my birth control pills. Then 2 weeks ago, I thought I had a mild yeast infection and treated it. 3 days ago my fiance and I had intercourse and I experienced pain, which I think was caused by my being tense but it’s also been a symptom of my past cases with BV. NOW I’m having itching and burning. Could I have been torn down there from being tensed up and now it’s just healing? Could I have caused a yeast infection by treating myself unnecessarilly? Help me! I’m going on my honeymoon in 5 days and I’m desperate for answers! T_T

First of all, you are pingponging your infections back and forth between you and your fiance. Each time ask for treatment for both of you. A yeast infection comes about from disturbing the bacterial millieu in the vagina. Meds for yeast infection available over the counter. Use the same cream on him. Third, make sure you both have taken a shower/bath before sex. Fourth, use K-Y for extra lubrication if necessary. Use foam with the birth control pills, which should give you back up protection when on antibiotics.
A new partner gives lots of infections until the vagina gets used to the new bacteria, then it usually settles down. Make sure you both are monogamous. See your gyn doc if you get very sore.
Bladder infections are often associated with sex because of the thrusting inward which pushed bacteria into the bladder as well. Drink lots of fluids, apple/cranberry juice to keep the urine acidic, which decreases bladder infections.

Itching quite often is a yeast infection, esp. if the area is reddened. If your discharge is copious, you might want to see your ob/gyn.
Hope this helps.
