Best US Honeymoon locations for August/September 2009?
Unfortunately we got a late start on planning our honeymoon! We can still attempt to get our Passports, but I’m sure with our luck something will happen and we won’t have them in time. For a Honeymoon within the United States, what are good locations? I get a phenomenal discount for Hilton/Hampton/Doubletree (etc) hotels…and am usually extremely lucky in getting cheap airfare. Any suggestions of where we can go? I’ve only traveled to Indiana, California, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Niagra, Windsor, etc..so I’m looking for something memorable, and warm +80 degrees, we are getting married 08/29/09 and looking to leave the next day.
If you want a beach town, I would say check out the Florida Keys. They have nice beaches, great places to eat and a lot of other stuff to do. Plus, Miami is within reasonable driving distance if you get the urge to head into the city to party. But if you’re looking to get away from it all and relax and be romantic, definitely the Keys.
If you’re not stuck on wanting a beach, I would say some options are:
1) Lake Tahoe
2) the Grand Canyon Area (can stay in Vegas and make the trip out or stay out of Vegas for a quieter setting)…def a memorable experience
3) Austin, TX – there are some fantastic spas on the lake there
