I am taking a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico for my honeymoon and I was wondering if I will need a passport?

Don’t think that I am an idiot for asking this question, but I read somewhere that if you are on a cruize all you need is your birthcertificate. Is this true? I need to know because if I need a passport then I will have to get one soon and pay double the standard amount. Anyone who can help will me greatly appreciated!!!!!

Not until at least Jan 1 2008. Cruise travel to the Caribbean does not require a passport yet. It may be until June 2009 before it is required
