Honeymoon in Hawaii?

Does anyone know which island is best to visit in January? We want to be somewhat distanced from the busy downtown area but still want to be close enough to go and have fun. We also want to stay on an island that has a variety of activities we could participate in that will not be too expensive. Has anyone visited Hawaii in January at all and how is the weather? I have heard that it rains more on some of the islands. Any ideas would be appreciated! Also resort or hotel information if anyone has any recommendations. We will be honeymooning the week of January 15th, 2007.

rains some during that time of year. recommend oahu (i live here) and even tho it can be crowded w/tourists, there are lots to see and do that you can get away from the city. any island you go to will be expensive, and waikiki would be costly, due to tourism. try to go visit the north shore (waves would be awesome during that time..not to swim, but for the view). lots of hiking trails. would recommend sheraton moana surf rider (beach front hotel, awesome, but kind of pricey). or pacific beach hotel is nice too.
