BEACH HONEYMOON GIFT IDEAS
What do you think of this bridal shower gift idea???
My best friend is getting married in March. And is going on her honeymoon to hawaii! My idea is to get her a beach tote with fun stuff for the beach and the flight over. what do you think I should put in there??? Give me some fun ideas, and where to find them!(Nothing sexual) Don’t want to spend over 30.00. And where have you seen really neat beach totes lately?? where and for how much! Thanks for the help!
PS- What should I wear to her bridal shower. ( need ideas) The Bridal shower is going to be held at her aunts house in napa, CA. I am 5′ tall and have light brown hair and blue eyes if that helps! Thanks again!

Oh, by the way her bridal shower is next weekend on the 18th. Ordering something unless it is quick is out of the question.
Should I wrap the tote bag or just make it pretty with a lei. And should I wrap the stuff inside???

Wrap the contents, not the tote. Skip the lei, as they’ll probably get leis when they land. I’d go beach bag, not flight bag. She can pack a beach bag and its contents, but she’d have more to carry onto the plane if you made it for the flight as well.
Go cheap on the tote. I used to make them using a tote bag pattern by Carol Duvall, notorious craft wiz, but you may not want to do that or have the skills or time to do it in time left.
For my friend’s wedding, I made a large cordouroy tote with a coordinating paisley lining that extended about 3-4″ over the top, from the inside to the outside. I put on a wide, padded carrying strap and made a matching paisley & cordouroy picnic blanket (padded it on the inside with old flannel sheets, I think) and tied with matching yarn every 3-4″ in a grid to keep the layers from shifting around when used or washed.
I filled that tote with a “Romantic Picnic for Two” theme, but for a Hawaii honeymoon, I’d probably go with LARGE beach blanket, sunscreen, His & Hers hats (see what $ store has!), His & Hers paperbacks, small beach umbrella, a colorful, uninflated beach ball, small beach towels (or even bright colored hand towels would come in handy on the beach,) and maybe some hard candy or mints or gum if you thought they would not melt. Oh yeah, what about one or two of those waterproof tube or box things (like kids use at the pool) in which to keep cash or hotel room key while on the sand.
Include a cute or funny card tied to the handle of the tote, saying you tried to think of every little thing, but she needs to provide her own BIKINI (no matter her size or shape, say BIKINI) and SAND and her own MAN (his BIKINI can be bottoms only!)
I don’t think it matters what you wear at the shower. Be clean, with no stains or holes, and be comfortable. Paint your toenails and wear open-toed shoes for bling! Have fun.
